REACT operates as an open-access journal, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide. To sustain this model and support key publishing processes, including peer review, DOI assignment via Crossref, long-term digital archiving, and technical production, we charge a modest Article Processing Charge (APC). This fee enables us to maintain the quality and accessibility of the journal while remaining inclusive to a wide range of authors.
Recognizing the financial constraints faced by many researchers, especially those in low-resource settings, REACT applies a Geographical Pricing for Open Access (GPOA) policy. Under this model, authors based in Nigeria and other developing countries are charged a heavily subsidized APC of ₦40,000 (approximately $20). This fee structure acknowledges the realities of self-funded researchers who rely on limited salaries but remain committed to contributing to scientific progress and staying active in the academic space.
For authors affiliated with institutions in developed countries, where research projects typically receive dedicated funding and APCs are routinely budgeted, the standard APC is fixed at $100. This pricing model ensures fairness, promotes global inclusivity in research dissemination, and supports the long-term sustainability of REACT's open-access publishing platform.
